236 The Carolina Journal op Pharmacy Jefferson Standard's 17-story home office building at the intersection of N. Elm and W. Market Sts. The part of the building leased has a frontage of 31 feet on Elm St. and 80 feet on Market St. In addition to the main floor the lease covers the basement and a mezzanine floor. It is reported that the Jefferson Standard will spend approximately $20,000 in remodeling the drug �store's new home. The work should be completed in about 60 days. Messrs. A. E. Weatherly and Parke C. Stratford, the proprietors of the pharmacy, are planning to install modern fixtures throughout the store. The prescription department will be located on the mezzanine and on the main floor, with modern equipment and a particularly large stock of biological products. Fixtures -will be furnished by the Morrison Mfg. Co., of Statesville. The company has purchased a new soda fountain, about 30 feet in length, from the Liquid Carbonic Co., of Chicago. Equipment will include modern steam tables, eold lunch and sandwich facilities, and a luncheonette service. The Lipman organization at Beloit, Wis., will install a modern mechanical refrigerating unit. Enlargement of the present Nunnally candy department and factory branch agency i^ contemplated. The location which has been secured by Stratford-Weatherly is considered one of the best in the State. Further announcements about the opening will be made later. Dr. Pepper Co. Opens N. C. Office The Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. has i-ecently established headquarters in Greensboro for the sale and distribution of their carbonated beverage. Mr. C. A. Blake is manager of the office. He is a native North Carolinian, being originally from Durham. For the past several years, hoAvever, he has resided in Oklahoma Citj\ The Dr. Pepper Co. is inaugurating an extensive newspaper advertising campaign and Mr. Blake states that he is greatly pleased with the reception of the company. Stanback Medicine Co. Occupies New Home On May 1st the Stanback Medicine Company, for many years of Spencer, moved into new quarters in the southern part of Salisbury on Highway No. 15. The new plant is located in the McCanless building at 1500 S. Main St. The building has ample floor space and gives the company splendid office and laboratory room as well as other conveniences with possibilities for continued expansion. The new plant will enable the company to increase immediately its output by a considerable quantity. The Stanback headache powders are now distributed by druggists and dealers over a large percentage of states in the Union. It employs a sales force of 15 men. Mr. T. M. Stanback is president and general manager of the company and Mr. F. J. Stanback is in charge of the sales department. The formula for the product Avas Avorked out by Mr. T. M. Stanback in 1910.
