Progress of District Activities; Membership promoted by contacting all registered nurses in the District. Working on state registration for all nurses employed in the District who are not currently registered. Newspaper coverage of meetings. March 1957 "Mental Health and Tranquilizers" - Panel discussion. April 1957 "Administrative End of Nursing," Mr. M. E. Bvillard. May 1957 Business meeting. July 1957 Picnic. August 1957 Presentation of Citations for Work in ^olio. President of Junior Chamber of Commerce. September 1957 "Spiritual Aspects of Nursing," Reverend Henry Morgan. Progress of District Activities; Membership promoted by inviting non-members to meetings. Participated in "Career Days" at the high schools urging students to enter the nursing profession. President spoke to "Young Mothers Club" on "Childhood Diseases." Other members spoke to Junior Auxiliary of the hospital on "Nursing." Three hospitals have Social Security coverage. Had a "Fruit Cake Sale" to raise money. Each member participated in county-wide Polio Campaign. Newspaper coverage of all activities. Outstanding "roblems: Poor attendance. Lack of interest among new graduates in joining the District. Problems Being Met By; Inviting all R. N.'s to attend meetings and to join the District. Held Social Hour in conjunction with meetings in order to arouse interest. Written notice of meetings sent to each member. Planning more interesting programs.
