The members of the graduating class of the Wilson School of Nursing and their guests were entertained with a banquet and dance recently by the above Alumnae Associations. DISTRICT NINETEEN � �� ' NO ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION DISTRICT TWENTY TWO ALUMNAE ASSOCIATIONS PARK VIE7J ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION Mrs. Wilma Garris, R. N., President, Rocky Mount The Park View Alumnae Association meets the first Tuesday in every month (except July and August). We have a membership of seventy-nine. Our programs have been varied and interesting, ranging from a talk on investments to a visit to the H. Lee Large Health Center with movies shown on mental health. During the year we have had a lecture by Dr. Harry Fish, with colored slides on plastic surgery. In February a representative of the Gideon Bible Society gave a very inspiring talk on the challenges and opportunities that nurses have in their contacts with patients and their families. He presented those members present with New Testaments designed for nurses. Our members have helped with the polio and other drivesj sent cards, gifts, flowers, etc., to members who have been sick or bereaved; presented gifts to the Park View graduating class; served as hostesses at district meetings; had a joint supper meeting with the Rocky i/bunt Sanitarium Alumnae; sent delegates to the 1955 NCSNA Convention; made donations to various drives; gave a gift to a retiring office staff member; had a Christmas party; assisted doctors with inoculations at schools, and in general, had a good year. Other officers for 1956 are: Mrs. Elsa Sears, Vice-'President; Mrs. C. Hedgepeth, Secretary; Mrs. B. Ellis, Treasurer. ROCKY MOUNT SANITARIUM ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION Mrs. Rosetta D. Thompson, R. N., President, Rocky Mount Other officers of Rocky Mount Sanitarium Alumnae Association for 1956 are as follows: Mrs. Virginia Pitt, Secretary; Mrs. Pauline Layton, Treasurer. We have approximately thirty members, with an average attendance at meetings of about fifty per cent. Our nursing school has been closed for a number of years now, preventing very much variation in the number on roll. Programs and Topics for the year are as follows: October 1955 - Mr. Gilbert Batts of The Gideon Society, presentation of New Testaments designed for nurses. November 1955 - Reports of 1955 NCSNA Convention. December 1955 - A lovely Christmas party in the home of Mrs. Margaret Flye. January 1956 - Annual business meeting. - 73 -
