Outstanding Problems; Membership. Problems are Being Met By; Efforts of individual members. Progress of District Activities; Recruitment Comjiiittee has done outstanding work in recruiting student nurses. This committee publicized nursing through newspaper articles, by radio and by announcements in Raleigh churches, especially during Hospital Week and on Student Wurse Sunday. Attractive window displays were used in down town areas and talks were made in high schools and junior colleges. The District cooperated with the Red Cross in appointing a committee to assist in securing nurses in Polio and other emergencies. This Committee was very helpful in securing nurses in the recent Polio emergency at Rex Hospital. DISTRICT FOURTEEN Agnes Kelly, R. Achievements; Organization of Institutional Staff Nurses and Public Health Nurse Sections. Distributed material relative to recruitment of nurses to prospective students. Donated $-25.00 as a gift to a worthy student entering Duke University School of Nursing. Increased number of subscriptions for American Journal of Nursing. Better attendance at m.onthly meetings.
