Abstract | Color print, both sides. This is the July 1926 edition of the state highway map, and it differs in appearance from previously editions. At this time, the state highway maps were updated and issued monthly. The state highways are shown in red, and county roads are in black. Indexes to counties and to cities and towns appear for the first time as an inset in the lower left corner of the map. The highways in portions of adjacent states are also shown. A map of the eastern United States showing the main highway routes through North Carolina and a table of distances appear on the reverse along with information on historic points of interest and a brief history of the state highway program. |
