Sheet 2 shows Asheville and vicinity. Insets on Sheet 3 show Skyland, Fairview, South Hominy, Black Mountain, Swannanoa and Grovemont area, the area surrounding Skyland, and area surrounding Oak Park. Symbols designate locations of churches, cemeteries, schools, manufacturing plants, saw mills, fairgrounds or race courses, post offices, gravel pits or quarries, hospitals or county homes, municipal parks, camp grounds and airports. Railroads shown include Southern Railroad. Map also shows portions of the Pisgah National Forest, Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Forest. A key to county road numbers is also included on sheet 1. The legend shown is used for this entire series of county highway maps and does not necessarily mean all elements are present on this map. |
