Abstract | Blue line print. Map consists of 2 sheets, with Sheet 2 titled "Enlarged municipal and suburban areas". Insets in Sheet 1 show Gamewell, and the area around Kings Creek. Insets in Sheet 2 show areas of Mortimer, Lenoir and vicinity, Collettsville, Hudson-Granite Falls-Rhodhiss and vicinity, Blowing Rock, and Patterson. Symbols designate locations of churches, cemeteries, schools, saw mills, hospitals or county homes, fairgrounds or race courses, gravel pits or quarries, post offices, camp grounds, and manufacturing plants. Also designated are portions of the Daniel Boone Wildlife Management Area and Pisgah National Forest. Railroads shown include Carolina Western Railway. A key to county road numbers is also included. The legend shown is used for this entire series of county highway maps and does not necessarily mean all elements are present on this map. |
