Historical Notes | Most modern numismatists strive to collect bills and notes in excellent condition. Yet, for the purposes of studying the provenance and period repair techniques of currencies, many librarians and museum curators also collect heavily worn and fragmented specimens, such as this bill, which is held to a backing paper by three colonial-era straight pins. |
