This map shows a Study Plan for a Mountain Community tour site at Moses H. Cone Memorial Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The map was designed by Beyer in 1966. The map shows existing and proposed roads, carriage roads, foot trails, buildings, wayside exhibit, an amphitheatre, tour stop points, and tour routes. Areas identified on the map include a craft center, horse stable, orchard, field crops, garden, craftsmen quarters, and apple barn storage and production center. A separate list on the left side of the map describes 22 stop points on an interpretive tour of the Mountain Community site. The stop points include a visitor center; weaving, spinning and dyeing cloth shop; gunsmith shop; wood carver's shop; blacksmith shop; country store; basket maker and chair maker shop; cooper; candle maker shop; church; school; dulcimer maker shop; tannery; pounding mill; still; potter; tub mill; undershot mill; mountain farmhouse; barn; springhouse; and root cellar.
