Glen Gray (at right) and the Casa Loma Band performing during at UNC-Chapel Hill, probably in the Tin Can. Gray and the Casa Lomans played a public concert at Memorial Hall on February 16 from 3:00 to 4:00, and three Mid-winter German dances at the Tin Can on February 16th and 17th.
From an article in February 11, 1940 edition of the DAILY TAR HEEL describes band members, guitarist may be Jack Blanchette. Clarinetist may be Arthur "Art" Ralston, "fourth saxophonist . . . and an expert on almost every reed instrument."
Photograph (tightly cropped on clarinetist and two band members to his left) appears in the 1940 YACKETY YACK yearbook.
