Title	Confederate Monument and State Capitol, Raleigh, N.C.
Caption	The first Capitol of North Carolina was built in 1794 and burned in 1831. The present building was designed by David Paton and Ithial Towne and built in 1833-40, at a cost of $530,000. It is of Doric architecture. There are no nails and no iron pillars or rafters. The building is one of the most stately in the South and is particularly beautiful under flood light at night. The Capitol is located in Capitol Square and is the central point of Raleigh. Pub. by Raleigh News Agency, Raleigh, N.C. Natural Color Post Card Made in U.S.A. by E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wis.
