Abstract	Color print. This map was prepared by the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey under the supervision of Leo Otis Colbert (1883-1968) as director. The map portrays Ocracoke Inlet, Portsmouth Island, and parts of Ocracoke Island and Core Sound. Soundings are given, and the dredged ship channels are indicated by broken lines. Information relating to the tides, aids to navigation, and abbreviations is found in the lower right corner of the map next to the title. Includes cautions and notes on heights and authorities. Inland detail includes roads, landmarks along waterways, lighthouses, and dunes. Shows Howard Reef. Depths shown by stippling and soundings; heights indicated by stippling.
