Abstract	Color print. This map was prepared by the U.S. Coast Survey under the direction of Leo Otis Colbert (1883-1968) as director. It is the 1938 edition with corrections to 1944. As the title indicates, the map portrays the Cape Fear River from the Atlantic north to Reaves Point. Soundings are given, and the ship channel is marked. Information pertaining to buoys, beacons, tides and abbreviations used is found in text appearing in the lower left corner of the map. Includes notes on cautions, storm warnings, radiobeacon signals, and authorities. Inland detail includes cities and towns, landmarks along river and coast, bridges, roads, railroads, lighthouses, Coast Guard stations, Intracoastal Waterway, Fort Caswell, and sand dunes on Cape Fear.
