Caption	In cartouche: "Drawn from late Surveys and regulated by Astronl. Observatns. by Eman. Bowen." A note in the center of the map reads, "The Charokee Indians is a Numerous & Warlike Nation; & as they are in Amity & Alliance with the Subjects of ye King of Great Britain, they serve as a powerful Barrier to Carolina & Georgia in ye present War against France & Spain. The Emperor of ye Charokees & the King of ye Catawaas renew'd their League of Friendship with Gov'r Glenn at Charles Town in Sth. Carolina in May 1745."
Abstract	Map shows forts, Native American settlements, a description of the Cherokee tribe, courthouses, forts, and natural features. The Meherrin Indians and "Tuskeruro Indians" (Tuscarora) are shown in eastern North Carolina. "Welch (Welsh) Settlemts" are shown near Wilmington, and "Palatine Settlemts" west of New Bern. Relief shown pictorially.
Bibliographic Note	Map is a copy of the Carolina sheet of Popple's great twenty sheet map of North America (1733), with a separate title and reduced in size.
