Abstract	Print. This map was prepared by the U.S. Coast Survey as one in the series of numbered charts depicting the Atlantic coast of the United States. This is an 1891 printing. The reduced drawing of topography and hydrography was made by Adolph Lindenkohl, and the map was engraved by Alexander Sengteller, W. A. Thompson, and A. Petersen. The map portrays the coastline of North Carolina from Currituck Beach to Oregon Inlet. Topographical features, roads, locations of structures, and other landmarks are shown. Soundings are given for the Atlantic in the vicinity of the coast and the depth of the water is also indicated by dotted lines. Information relating to the soundings, aids to navigation, tides and other aspects of the map is found in the margins.
