Map shows townships, churches, schools, cotton gins, improved highways, county roads, cart roads, railroads, lumber roads, bridges, canals, churches, schools, residences, saw mills, cotton gins, stores, swamps, railroad stations, grist mills, county homes, and prison farms. Printed outside of the map is a mileage table for county roads and an "Index of Residences, including Offices, Paper Mills, Blacksmith Shops and Repair Shops, Churches, School Houses, Cotton Gins, Saw Mills and Grist Mills, Stores, County Bridges. Townships shown include Littleton, Roanoke Rapids, Weldon, Halifax, Faucett, Brinkleyville, Enfield, Scotland Neck, Roseneath, and Palmyra. Railroads shown include the Weldon Lumber Co. Rail Road, the Atlantic Coast Line Rail Road, the Seaboard Air Line Rail Road, and the Fosburgh Lumber Co. Rail Road.
