Caption	Under title: "The shoals are very uneven and full of oyster banks within the river near the mouth, and higher up, sandy and uneven the sands and oyster banks in many places dry. The water rises at the bar 6 feet at a common tide, within the bar there is from 4 to 7 fathom water for six or seven miles, then the shallows for 3 or 4 miles where there is but 14 feet at high water." At bottom of map: "Printed for Robert Sayer in Fleet Street and Thomas Jeffreys the corner of St. Martins Lane in the Strand."
