Abstract	Covers the rivers, creeks, and sounds surrounding Beaufort, North Carolina, including the Newport and North rivers, the Bogue and Back sounds, and the Beaufort Inlet. Also shows roads, houses, canals, property lines, and a section of the Atlantic and North Carolina Rail Road. Relief shown by hachures, depths shown by soundings and bathymetric shading. Inset tables describe soundings, "abbreviations of bottoms" buoys, and tides.
