Abstract	The map portrays the coastline of North Carolina in Currituck and Dare counties from Currituck Beach to New Inlet.Communities featured include Manteo, Wanchese, Nags Head, Chicamacomico and Kitty Hawk. Map also features Coast Guard stations, including those at Pea Island, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. Bodie Island and Currituck Beach light houses also noted. Soundings are given, and the depth of the water is also indicated by contour lines and shading. Information relating to soundings, aids to navigation, tides, and other aspects of the map appears in the lower left corner below the title.
Historical Note	This map was prepared by the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey under the direction of Ernest Lester Jones (1876-1929) from surveys conducted to 1917 and from surveys conducted by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to 1918. It was published in September 1919 with updates to November 7, 1923.
Bibliographic Note	This map was formerly classified as 33 MAP-93-85.
