Abstract	This map was prepared by the U.S. Coast Survey as one of the series of numbered charts depicting the Atlantic coast of the United States. This is the 1910 edition issued by Superintendent Otto Hilgard Tittmann (1850-1938) of a map initially published in 1885. It portrays the coastline of North Carolina from northeast of Cape Hatteras to just west of Ocracoke Inlet. Soundings are given, and the depth of the water is also indicated by dotted lines and shading. Information relating to the soundings, aids to navigation, buoys, tides, and other aspects of the map is found in the lower left corner. Relief shown by hachures. Inland detail includes roads, ground cover, and houses. Includes explanations and tables of tides, lights, buoys, soundings, storm warning displays, and abbreviations. Oriented with north to the upper right.
