Caption	Moores Creek National Military Park, Currie, N.C. This was the first monument erected on the battlefield where the N. C. Patriots and Loyalists fought in 1776 during the Revolutionary War. The cornerstone was placed in 1857 through Public donation. The area was established in 1926 as the nation's sixth Military Park. The two-pounder cannon is similar to the one used by the Patriots.
