Message on front of card reads : "Hurry and come home for I am real anxious to see you : I left Wakefield the 1st of June . Came out to Chopus Sun . Will write to you real soon . Guess [illegible] has been to see her Lovingly India. " The card is addressed to: "Miss Maud Edney , [Illegible] , Virginia. " Postmarked 3 July 1907 . The card also reads : "On this Square the original Stars and Bars , the Confederate Battle Flag , was first unfurled. "
