It was at Edenton, some time before the Boston patriots disguised themselves as Indians and dumped British tea into Boston harbor, that un-disguised ladies of five Albemarle counties gathered in Edenton on October 25, 1774, and signed resolutions protesting the injustices of British administration, including tax on tea. |
