Abstract	As the title indicates, the map portrays the British colonies in North America from New England to Georgia. Shows towns and forts. Rivers, inlets, and other physical landmarks are depicted and named; and the locations of Indian tribes are shown. Decorative illustration surrounding title.
Historical Note	This map was drawn by Emanuel Bowen (died 1767), geographer or mapmaker to King George II, and engraved by his son, Thomas Bowen (died 1790). It was initially published in the July 1749 issue of The London Magazine.
Bibliographic Note	This map was formerly classified as 33 MAP-O-48.
