Color print. This map portrays Rutherford County and shows the area and distribution of soil types in the county. Roads, cities and towns, churches, schools, bridges, and other components of the built environment are also shown. Displays natural features including labeled mountains and gaps, and caves near Chimney Rock. Shows South Mountain Institute and Rutherfordton Power Plant. A legend reporting the colors used to indicate the various types of soil and the symbols used to note churches, schools, etc., appear in the lower left corner of the map. |
