Abstract	North Carolina is outlined in yellow and South Carolina in pink. The extreme western parts of both states are not shown. Parts of surrounding states are included. Major rivers are indicated, but few other topographical features are shown. Post roads are shown with the mileage between various towns, inns, etc., on each road calculated. Long Bay, Onslow Bay, and Raleigh's Bay are named along the southeastern coastline. Longitude is measured from Washington.
Bibliographic Note	This map is dated by a manuscript notation "Darby, Phila. 1828" on the reverse. There are no copies of this map listed in WorldCat, however, there are records for two similar maps, "Illinois and Missouri" and "Ohio and Indiana" both with distances listed between locations and both published by Darby in 1828.
