Abstract
Map shows post offices and smaller towns in addition to county seats and major towns, and proposed railroads from Wilmington through Fayetteville into Davidson County and from Raleigh to New Bern ("Newberne"). Relief shown by hachures.
Bibliographic Note
This map was probably published in a later edition of David H . Burr's A New Universal Atlas . Erroneous spellings have been retained from the plate engraved by W . F . H. , Jr . for the 1834 Burr map , but additions have been made to reflect the creation of Yancey County in 1833 and proposed railroads from Wilmington through Fayetteville into Davidson County and from Raleigh to New Bern .
