Abstract	Reduced positive photocopy. This map was prepared under the direction of the State Highway and Public Works Commission as one of a series of county maps published by the commission in 1936. This map portrays Beaufort County and shows the state highways and county roads in the county. State highways are identified by their number designation and county roads by class and type. The locations of schools, churches, prisons, and other landmarks are also noted. A legend is found in the lower right corner. The highway district in which the county is located appears below the title in the upper right of the map. Supplements showing state highways and county roads in Pantego, Washington, Belhaven, Bath, and Aurora appear as insets.
