Abstract	Manuscript. This is the manuscript map of a survey of Roanoke Island executed by William Maule, Surveyor General of North Carolina, in 1718. The map shows the division of land on the island and includes information on landings, houses, trees, and topographical features.
Bibliographic Note	As is noted in the entry for this map in William P. Cumming, The Southeast in Early Maps, the last numeral of the year on the map is indistinct; but the date is assumed to be 1718 based on the reference to this map in William Moseley's 1729 copy. This map was formerly classified as M.C. 49-C.
