Abstract |
Printed in colors coded to soil types. Relief shown by contours at intervals of 20 ft. Map shows churches, schools, retail stores, fisheries, townships, highways, ponds, swamps, landings, highways, and railroads including the Atlantic Coast Line (Kinston Branch and Plymouth Branch). A "Steamboat Route" and "Old Fort" are shown on the Roanoke River near Hamilton. At the southwest border, the map gives the border between Martin and Beaufort counties, as well as the "County Line as Shown on Beaufort County Soil Map 1917." Townships shown include Goose Next, Williams, Williamston, Bear Grass, Jamesville, and Griffin. |
