This map was prepared by the U. S. Geological Survey and was based on a chart by the U.S. Coast Survey. The map portrays the coast line of North and South Carolina from Cape Hatteras to Cape Romain and shows, but does not identify Raleigh, Onslow, and Long bays. The 10 fathoms, 20 fathoms, 30 fathoms, and 100 fathoms lines are noted. A portion of the interior of southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina is also portrayed. Counties are delineated and named, county seats are identified, and major rivers and other bodies of water are shown.
