Color print. This undated map is an updated and expanded version by Mabel Pugh, head of the art department at Peace College in Raleigh, of her map created in 1937 for the Garden Club of North Carolina. It reflects a situation date of the late 1950s to 1960 and utilizes stylized drawings to depict cities and towns, historic sites and other places of interest, flora and fauna, U.S. and state highways, and notable physical features of North Carolina. A legend in the lower left corner identifies the flowers and birds portrayed in the border of the map.
