Covers from Van Eden and Watha to Penderlea area. The proposed "Farm City" covers area of modern Penderlea in Pender County, N.C. Oriented with north to the right. Includes key to buildings. Depicts roads, farms, the layout of the town center, and a line of the Altantic Coast Line Rail Road.
Historical Note
The 10,500 acre Penderlea community was established by the U.S . government in 1934 with 142 farm units , a school , community center , and lake . -- William S . Powell's North Carolina Gazetteer ([1968] p . 377) .
