Notes |
French-born Andre "the Giant" Roussimoff, perhaps the best-known pro wrestler in the world during the height of his career, owned a 200-acre ranch near Ellerbe, North Carolina. The 520-pound wrestler later acted in movies, with his part as Fezzik the giant in the 1987 film, The Princess Bride, probably being his most famous role. His ashes were scattered at his ranch in 1993 after he died of a heart attack at age 46 while in Paris for his father's funeral. |
