Abstract Relief shown by hachures. Shows "horse mail post coach roads," "horse mail stage coach roads," "horse mail or sulkey roads, "as well as crossroads, railroads, and canals. The Wilmington & Weldon railroad is shown, with several towns added to the map in pencil along the railroad route. Prime meridians: Washington and Greenwich. Extends slightly beyond western, southern, and eastern neatline and borders.
