New appointments recently announced by the School of Nursing, Mrs. Grace T. Turner, meinber in District Thirty, may be our champion cook-book seller. She is shown, right, handing a check for $75 to Mrs. Frances Miller, executive director, bringing her total cookbook sales for the Building Fund to $524.81 since "Nightingales in the Kitchen" was published in 1969. UNC-Chapel Hill: June D. Watson, assistant professor; Verna Eva Elizabeth Berryhill, assistant professor; Laurice Ferris, assistant professor . . . Jlrs. Avis B. Rabin has joined the faculty of the Division of Continuing Education, East Carolina University. She formerly was assistant professor of nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi, responsible for planning, designing, and implementing continuing education programs for nurses . . . Alma Kernion of Raleigh has been elected president of the Rex Alumni Association . . . Sister Jeanne M. McXally, Sacred Heart Convent, Belmont, is the new chairman of the ANA Division of Medical-Surgical Nursing. MAGAZINES OFFERED NCSNA has incomplete volumes of RN magazine from 1957 through 1970, which we will give to any interested library willing to pick them up at Headquarters. Obituaries Mrs. Ruby June Biggs (Madison Sanitarium & Hospital, Madison, Tenn.) died October 26, 1972 in a Henderson County hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Leona Kate Pauline H. Crowder (Mountain Sanitarium & Hospital) died October 29, 1972. Mrs. Isabel Pullen Barden (Watts School of Nursing, Durham) died October 30, 1972. Clara E. Henderson (Mt. Sinai Hospital, N. Y.) died August 20, 1972, in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, after a long illness.
