| Description | Ten-dollar bill of creit printed by James Davis in New Bern and issued in 1778. |
| Historical Notes | At first glance it appears that this is a complete 1778 ten-dollar bill that was simply torn in half. They are, however, pieces from different varieties in that issue. In the upper portion of the bill, note the dissimilarities in the fonts used in "TEN DOLLARS" and the repeated portions of the letter "R" in "NORTH." Farther down,this is also a repetition of the date ("the 8th" and "the eighth"). |
