| Historical Notes | In November 1997, six pieces of North Carolina currency were found within documents in the University Library's Preston Davie Collection (#3406), preserved in the Southern Historical Collection. This is one of those specimens. Davie, a lawyer, amassed during his lifetime (1881-1967) an impressive collection of Americana relating to the South during the colonial, Revolutionary, and early federal periods. |
