Project description | Interviews, conducted in 1997 with Karen Kruse Thomas as lead interviewer, about the AHEC program, which began in 1972 with three AHEC regions under a federal contract with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Medicine. Interviews document the early years and growth of AHEC in North Carolina, transitions in medicine, and service to smaller communities in the state. |
