This map was prepared as one of a series of county maps showing the state, county, and municipal highway systems in each county as of January 1, 1953. The map was printed by Winston Printing Company of Winston-Salem. Federal and state highways are identified by their number designations and county and municipal roads by class and type. The locations of schools, churches, and other landmarks are also noted. A legend is found in the lower right corner of the map, and the highway district in which the county is located is noted in the upper right corner below the title. Maps of Jonesville and Arlington, Smithtown, Yadkinville, Boonville, and East Bend appear as insets in the right margin.
