Description	Image shows Tom Young, driver and owner, and Garland Daughtridge in an Amphicar 700 on the Tar River. The Amphicar was manufactured in Germany and designed to be marketed and sold in the USA. It was an amphibious vehicle that could be driven on the road like a car and piloted on the water like a boat. The engine had four cylinders and was made by Triumph. Twin propellers in the rear provided propulsion in the water. Notice the life preservers in the back seat.
