Description
Image shows Tom Young , driver and owner , and Garland Daughtridge in an Amphicar 700 on the Tar River . The Amphicar was manufactured in Germany and designed to be marketed and sold in the USA . It was an amphibious vehicle that could be driven on the road like a car and piloted on the water like a boat . The engine had four cylinders and was made by Triumph . Twin propellers in the rear provided propulsion in the water . Notice the life preservers in the back seat .
