Description	Image is studio portrait of Sunbeams. They were the junior branch of the Girl Guards sponsored by the Salvation Army. The Girl Guards was begun in 1915 by Mrs. General Booth to provide moral, spiritual, social and physical enrichment for young girls. The uniforms were gray with red. They met weekly and often went camping. There were three levels of advancement - Second Class, First Class and General's Guard - and badges could be earned as in Girl Scouts. In 1921, a junior branch was started - the Sunbeams. They wore gray with yellow uniforms. In 1959 they became affiliated with the Girl Guide Association.
