Description
Image shows Mr . Jacob Astor Viverette , center , on the occasion of his service and retirement reception at Belmont Lodge overlooking Belmont Lake , outside of Rocky Mount . He had been in the employ of the M . C . Braswell Company of Battleboro for fifty-eight years (1908-1966) ; note the flower arrangement on the mantel behind Mr . Viverette's head . M . C . Braswell Company owned the Braswell Farms and had a well-known general supply store in Battleboro . In the photo , from left to right , are Mrs . Viverette , wife of the honoree , Miss Vivian Braswell , Mrs . Robert D . Gorham , and Mrs . Thomas J . Pearsall . Miss Braswell , Mrs . Gorham and Mrs . Pearsall were daughters of the company founder , Mack C . Braswell , and partners in the company . An article on the reception and giving more detail on the company , along with this photo , was published in the January 24 , 1966 , edition of the Rocky Mount Telegram , Page 6 A, ("Mr . Viverette Honored At Large Reception " by Vivian Smith McMillan) .
