This map shows plans for General Development as Part of the Master Plan for Humpback Rocks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was designed by Bird, date unknown. The map shows existing and proposed boundaries of property owned by the National Park Service, by the county, and by private owners. It shows existing and proposed foot trails, pedestrian overlooks, general buildings, and comfort stations. It also denotes the condition of roads and parking areas as paved, base surfaced, improved, under construction, unimproved, or proposed. A note from Elbert Cox, dated June 1949, in the top right corner states: "Satisfactory as of this date for inclusion in master plan, but recommend all development be delayed as to programming until effect of private developments at Rockfish Gap is known, which may obviate the need for development at Humpback Rocks."
