Black and White Sheet Film 088_006: Williams, Daniel. (1838-1862). Daniel Williams was born near Willeyton in Gates County, N.C. on November 14, 1838. He moved further south (probably Alabama) in 1859 and worked as a teacher. When the Civil War started he joined an Alabama regiment. He was wounded at Shiloh and died in a St. Louis hospital in 1862.
