Transcription	Message on back of card reads: "Feb. 5. 1928. Dear Mrs. Rice,- I am sending you a view of the new hotel that was built last summer between Pinehurst and Southern Pines. I have seen it from the road but have not been near it. Mrs. Eadie says that it is in Southern Pines but it is listed with the hotels of Pinehurst. This is a dark, gloomy morning but we have been having a few, nice, sunny days. The "sunny south" is not an appropriate name for this section of the country this year. With best wishes, L.J.S." The card is not addressed, stamped, or postmarked.
