North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and southern Virginia are illustrated from the 30th to the 37th parallels. North and South Carolina are shown together as one entity colored in yellow and labelled Caroline. The portion of Virginia which is shown and Georgia are colored in pink. Boundary lines are not shown and the colonies are only delineated by the different colors. What is now Kentucky, Tennessee, and northern Georgia is shown as being part of Louisiana. Topographical features include mountains and the courses of major waterways. Inlets, capes, and barrier islands along the coastline are indicated and named. Important colonial settlements and Native American towns are included. There is a "Village d'Indiens" shown on Hatteras Island. Relief shown pictorially.
