Notes |
As many Americans became prosperous enough to afford automobiles, and as highways and travel services improved, long distance vacationing travel by car greatly increased. This car decal travel souvenir depicts a white-gowned Miss North Carolina. The decal, probably from the 1940s or 1950s, was one of a set of Miss America decals, based on the popular contest which began in 1921 in Atlantic City. |
